Ted became the owner of Sandy’s towing at the young age of 22. Since that time, Ted has openly shared his thoughts and ideas with tow operators at association meetings both within Ohio and national meetings. He believes in bettering the entire industry and raising the bar.

Provide details of at least one instance when the nominee has effected positive change in the industry.

Whether it is tow truck modification ideas, marketing ideas, or technological ideas, Ted has developed new ways of thinking that have not only helped Sandy’s thrive, but have led to new ways of operating for the entire industry. Ted has shared his knowledge and successful ways of doing business with tow company managers and owners through seminars and at the Tow Summit.

How has the nominee served as a role model or mentor to younger tow operators?

Ted is always thinking about what is coming next within the industry. He has always been on top of industry trends and ways to adapt and succeed under these new trends. He teaches younger up-and-coming managers and operators ways to identify new opportunities and threats to the industry and be ready to adapt and be ahead of the curve.

What leadership roles within the industry has the nominee held?

Ted has served on countless boards, committees, and associations within the towing industry. He has been on steering committees that have positively changed legislation, not only in Ohio, but across the country. Specifically Ted has served as Chairman of the Board for TT Publications Inc. for 25+ years, President of TRAO, active for years in TRAA, Chairman of Friends of Towing and instrumental in founding the International Towing Museum and more.
